Disclaimer

The limits of what you will find on this site, and what you should not rely on it for.

Last updated: 14 October 2026

Arcnet publishes technology explainers, guides and analysis. This page explains the limits of what that content is, and what you should and should not rely on it for. Please read it before acting on anything you find here.

General information only

Everything on arcnet.in is published for general information and educational purposes. It is written for a broad audience and cannot account for your specific systems, constraints, contracts or circumstances.

Nothing on this site is professional advice. In particular, our content is not a substitute for qualified guidance on security, legal, financial, compliance, tax or employment matters. Before you act on something that carries real risk, consult a professional who can look at your actual situation.

Technical instructions and your own risk

We publish configuration steps, command-line instructions, code samples and troubleshooting procedures. These are tested in our own environment against the software versions named in the article. Your environment is not our environment.

  • Software changes. A procedure that was correct when published may break, or behave differently, in a later version.
  • Commands that modify systems, delete data, change permissions or alter network configuration can cause damage or data loss.
  • Back up your data and test in a non-production environment before applying anything you read here to systems that matter.
  • You are responsible for understanding what a command does before you run it.

You follow our technical guidance at your own risk. Arcnet accepts no liability for damage, downtime, data loss, security incidents or costs arising from it.

Security content

Our cybersecurity coverage describes threats, vulnerabilities and attack techniques so that defenders can understand and mitigate them. It is published for defensive and educational purposes only.

Using this information to access, disrupt or test systems you do not own or have explicit written permission to test is illegal in most jurisdictions. Arcnet does not condone it and accepts no responsibility for it.

Accuracy and currency

We work hard to get things right and we correct errors openly — our editorial policy sets out how. Even so, we make no warranty that the content on this site is complete, accurate or current at the moment you read it.

Technology moves quickly. Prices, features, version numbers, vendor behaviour and security guidance all change. Check the publication or updated date on an article, and verify anything time-sensitive against the vendor’s own documentation before relying on it.

External links

We link to external sites so you can check our sources and read further. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, security or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement, and visiting a linked site is subject to that site’s own terms and privacy policy.

Advertising and affiliate disclosure

Arcnet is supported by advertising, and may also participate in affiliate programmes. This is how we pay for the work.

  • Advertising. This site displays third-party advertisements, including through Google AdSense. Ads are labelled and visually distinct from editorial content. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this and other websites. See our privacy policy for details and your options.
  • Affiliate links. Some articles may contain affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Where an article contains affiliate links, we say so in the article.
  • No influence on coverage. Advertising and affiliate relationships do not determine what we cover or what we conclude about it. Our editorial policy explains how we keep that separation.

Product and service mentions

Where we name a product, service or vendor, we are describing it — not guaranteeing it. We are not responsible for any product or service you obtain from a third party, and any dispute about it is between you and that provider.

Product names, logos and trademarks mentioned on this site belong to their respective owners. Their use here is for identification and commentary and does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by those owners.

Views expressed

Opinions in articles are those of the named author at the time of writing. Comments are the views of the people who post them and do not represent Arcnet. Comments are moderated, but their presence on the site is not an endorsement of what they say.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Arcnet and its contributors are not liable for any loss or damage — direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or otherwise — arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website or its content. This includes loss of data, profits, business or goodwill.

This site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.

Changes to this disclaimer

We may update this page as the site changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
